An end must be put to the war as soon as possible, it is only peace that can offer a solution, said Péter Szijjártó Péter on Facebook after having talks with the commissioner on foreign policy of the President of Uzbekistan.
In his post, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade said that he had discussions with Abdulaziz Kamilov, the commissioner on foreign policy of the President of Uzbekistan, who is also the Deputy Secretary General of the National Security Council of Uzbekistan, on the war in Ukraine and its consequences. “We agreed that an end must be put to the war as soon as possible, and it is only peace that can offer a solution. As a neighboring country, Hungary is especially interested in this,” stressed Péter Szijjártó.
The Minister underlined that for Uzbekistan Hungary is a key partner in Europe. The two countries have established close cooperation in the Organization of Turkic States. He also added that the 30th anniversary of establishing the diplomatic relations is commemorated this year. “Uzbekistan is playing an important role in the international fight against terrorism which is highly appreciated by Hungary,” said Péter Szijjártó.
