”The Scent of the Steppe”

It was on April 5 that the Capital Circus of Budapest performed ”The Scent of the Steppe,” a program that presented the rich cultural heritage of the peoples in Central Asia. Ambassador János Hóvári, the Executive Head of the Representation Office of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Budapest participated in the official first night of the production.

The latest super production of the Capital Circus of Budapest – ”The Scent of the Steppe” – was launched with horses galloping on authentic music, with supple and daring performers, as well as with the promise of a great deal of miracles. The rich cultural heritage of the peoples in Central Asia, as well as that of Azerbaijan and Mongolia is displayed with the help of spectacular sets, fancy dresses, authentic music and with awe-inspiring performances of the artists.

The public was captured by the grandmasters of the circus already during the first night, and besides the marvelous artists, the horses too seized the world of the steppe, recalling the ancient Shamanistic microcosm of the migrating peoples. During the performance the Capital Circus of Budapest became a kind of giant magical yurt in which the Turkmen, Kazakh, Hungarian, Mongol, Ukrainian and Uzbek artists animated the miraculous world of fairy tales, going back to the primordial elements of nature, in which the earth, water, fire, the wind, the animals and plants were respected and their power was mystified.

”The Scent of the Steppe” brings back the world of horseback circuses and the shows of artists. The Capital Circus of Budapest will keep the production on its program till the middle of September without a summer break. After the first night János Hóvári congratulated Péter Fekete, the director of the Capital Circus of Budapest on the great performance. Ambassador Hóvári highlighted the excellent initiative which greatly contributes to enhancing the knowledge in Hungary and the European Union about the culture and history of the peoples in Central Asia.
